Stan formed his own consultancy around these areas in 2010 following a 31-year successful diverse, multi-functional career at IBM. During his four years on IBM’s global corporate diversity staff, Stan led IBM into industry leadership in LGBT diversity and established IBM’s procedures for supporting transgender employees and assisting with case management of employees undergoing gender transition while in the workplace. As the acceptance of LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) people and their economic power continues to climb, fully understanding and embracing LGBTQ diversity is truly a critical business and organizational imperative. This workshop outlines the compelling rationale for all organizations to fully embrace LGBTQ inclusion and to build the business case. It explores the many policies and programs to implement, including a deep dive into the transgender and gender transition areas. Participants will: ● Articulate the compelling business rationale for fully supporting LGBTQ+ diversity. ● Understand the wide range of policies and procedures to support an LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusion strategy. ● Gain a deeper understanding of transgender people and the process of gender transitioning. ● Leave with practical ideas of how to address various LGBTQ situations that may arise in the workplace.
