DEI allyship in the workplace conjoins social justice, inclusion, and human rights to raise awareness of privilege and the lived experiences of underrepresented groups and individuals. The intended purpose of allyship work is to increase awareness for informed DEI support and action. Effective allies practice intuitive listening to effectively connect and collaborate with people who feel invisible or silenced. They also actively work to see and replace systemic oppressive organizational artifacts with diversity, equity, and inclusion practices that recognize and lift all voices to be their highest and best. Participants will: ● Learn the principles and skills of intuitive listening while gaining deeper clarity and understanding of key DEI and allyship terminology. ● Learn and practice how to give and receive hard to hear feedback with people of difference. ● Gain insight on how to increase awareness of systems of exclusion and oppression while developing strategies to create equitable systems for all to thrive. ● Become more aware and effective on how to use yourself as the instrument of systemic change.
